The Organic Center, a non-profit based in Rhode Island, has launched a campaign to get the word out about the many ways that organic products benefit our health -- and that of the environment. The group's goal is to get consumers to pledge that 10% of their grocery cart will contain organic products by the year 2010. Among the many benefits to look forward to upon meeting this goal are less pesticides in our water and the elimination of antibiotics and growth hormones from 20 million servings of milk.
